Modern Hotel Adds New Option at Tucson Airport
$3 million in rebrand and renovation gives travelers a new way to stay near TIA
Tucson, AZ- November 12, 2012 - The row of hotels along Tucson Boulevard just got a facelift. The newly renovated Best Western® Plus Hotel and Suites, Tucson International Airport, is finally complete and boasts an unconventional airport stay. Modern design elements and amenities were incorporated to the property's lounge, pool, meeting, guest room, dining and bar areas. The multimillion-dollar project is the most recent to the area in several years.
“Best Western frequent stay travelers as well as other visitors traveling to Tucson will enjoy a beautiful, newly renovated hotel that focuses on a great guest experience while delivering value,” said Jerry Fischer, President of Desert Hospitality Management, LLC, manager. “Additionally, the Tucson community will benefit from increased tax revenues and new job creation.”
HSL Properties purchased the property, formerly the Clarion Hotel® Airport, in late 2011 for $4.5 million and has invested more than $3 million in renovations and conversion to the Best Western brand. This marks Best Western's re-emergence in the Tucson Airport market, Fischer said, adding the renovated hotel will be “one of the top hotels in the airport market.”
All 142 of the hotel's guest rooms and suites were entirely refurbished with new carpet, soft seating, furniture, digital A/C units, 42-inch flat-panel TVs and bedding - all designed with a modern sense of style. The hotel's 5,000 square feet of meeting and banquet spaces were refreshed with new window treatments, ceilings, banquet chairs and tables. The restaurant and bar were rejuvenated, their antique theme replaced with a new, updated atmosphere. The fitness center features entirely new equipment, with the latest in cardio and weight-training facilities. In addition, the pool and spa area were resurfaced and feature new custom tile decking and lounge furniture. The pool and courtyard were redesigned to give guests special gathering areas to relax and remove the day's stress.
