Carol Stratford Appointed Director of Marketing & Communications at The Homestead
HOT SPRINGS, VA, February 21, 2007. Carol Stratford has been named director of marketing and communications at The Homestead, a 496-room historic property located in Hot Springs, VA. In this position, she is responsible for all of the resort's marketing and brand communications efforts, including advertising and public relations.

With more than 12 years of marketing, public relations and communications experience, Stratford has enjoyed a career that began in 1995 as public relations manager at Six Flags Ohio in Aurora. From there, she worked as publicity manager for Stone Mountain Park in Georgia, transitioning to the hotel business in 1997 as director of marketing for Lake Lanier Islands in Georgia. Four years later, Stratford moved to the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami as director of marketing communications and in 2004 became the director of marketing communications for Marriott Southeast Region in Plantation, Florida.
Most recently, Stratford was corporate director of communications for Six Flags, Inc. in New York City.
Stratford graduated from Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio in 1992 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Communications and received a Masters degree in Mass Media Communications from The University of Akron in 1995. She currently resides in Hot Springs, VA with her husband Neil.
