ATLANTIC BEACH, FL - November 28, 2012 - Geoffrey Gable has been promoted to Executive Sous Chef at One Ocean Resort & Spa, Northeast Florida's newest beachfront boutique resort in Atlantic Beach, and its Azurea restaurant -- a “must experience” signature restaurant offering panoramic views of the ocean in an artfully inspired atmosphere. Azurea showcases the area's cuisine movement with an eclectic tribute to the flavors of Europe, the Caribbean and the Americas. The menu changes with each season, representing the latest trends and the finest ingredients. Under the leadership of acclaimed Culinary Director of Remington Hotels, Luxury Division Ted Peters, Gable has become a true asset to the culinary team at One Ocean Resort & Spa.
Gable brings more than a decade of culinary experience to One Ocean Resort & Spa, establishing a success track record in four- and five-star resorts along the East Coast. He has spent his distinguished career building up his reputation and expanding his knowledge in a wide range of cuisines and techniques, mainly utilizing fresh and local ingredients. Overseeing all food & beverage outlets at the Fla. resort including meetings and special events' catering and weddings, Gable has also been responsible for in-room dining, spa cuisine, Pool Bar & Grill and the Lobby Coffee & Wine Bar.
Gable attended The Art Institute of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Penn. studying technology in culinary and graduating as Best Young Culinarian in his class. Before joining One Ocean Resort & Spa and Azurea, Gable worked for The Cloister at Sea Island, an upscale five-star, five-diamond resort in Sea Island, Ga. In his position at The Cloister as Garde Manger Chef, Gable coordinated and creatively presented all wedding and catering tastings and was extensively involved in the organization of off-site catering events.
Gable honed his eye for presentation and talent for managing a complete dining experience for multiple clientele during his five years spent at The Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Fla. and Philadelphia, Penn. While with Ritz-Carlton hotels, Gable prepared high quality cuisine for 200-400 guests daily and ensured flawless delivery and consistency.
