Orient-Express Appoints Hein Olckers Regional Director Learning and Development

December 11, 2012 - Orient-Express Hotels Ltd. is delighted to announce the appointment of Hein Olckers as Regional Director Learning and Development for North America, Mexico and the Caribbean. In this role, Olckers will develop and implement training, governance and compliance programs across the Orient-Express properties within this region.

With more than two decades of in-market experience, Olckers will work with management within the region on the essential areas of hospitality management to ensure full compliance, training and development of staff. Most recently, Olckers established the Private Hotel School in South Africa in 2005, which offers a variety of hospitality and culinary arts, internationally accredited diplomas and certificate courses.

Further to his teaching accreditation, Olckers' experience in the hospitality sector includes management of both resort and specialized hotels, including The Peninsula Beverly Hills, Kruger Park Lodge and Namib Sun Hotels, and The Strand Hotel in Namibia. His educational studies include Cornell University and the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association @ The Hotel Institute in Switzerland.
