Barry Anderson Joins Boston Park Plaza as DoSM
Experience hotel marketing professional joins historic Back Bay hotel
June 11, 2013 - The Boston Park Plaza hotel is pleased to announce the addition of Barry Anderson as the historic hotel's Director of Sales and Marketing. A thirty-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Anderson will be responsible for the hotel's sales and marketing function, providing strategic leadership and branding and positioning activity.
Known for his ability to market a luxury hotel brand into a nationally recognized name in the marketplace, Anderson comes to the Boston Park Plaza after decades of experience at major hospitality brands, and arrives with many industry accolades, including the successful opening, branding, and positioning of the 900 Room Peabody Orlando. He was named Director of Sales & Marketing of the Year for Hyatt Hotels, and is the first sales and marketing executive to be voted on to the Advisory Board for Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.

Anderson earned a bachelors degree in Hotel Administration from Pennsylvania State University, and is married with two children. He has served as adjunct faculty at the University of Central Florida's Hotel and Sales Administration School, and has served as chair of the marketing committees of both the Orland/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. He was previously the Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Benchmark Hospitality International, an independent hotelier.
