Hansji Transforms Former Sunshine Property Into Radisson Phoenix
IRVINE, CA, March 8, 2007. Today, downtown Phoenix sports one more feather in its steadily brightening cap: Hansji Hotels, Inc. (http://www.hansjihotels.com) has announced the opening of the Radisson Phoenix City Center at 3600 N. 2nd Ave.
Like so many other buildings downtown, the Radisson Phoenix City Center is a far cry from what it was just a year ago. In that time, Hansji Hotels has transformed the run-down Sunshine Hotel & Suites into a sleek symbol of the rebirth of midtown Phoenix. Located in Phoenix's central business corridor, the Radisson is minutes away from downtown, Bank One Ball Park, America West Arena and Sky Harbor Airport.
"We are excited to bring the Radisson Phoenix City Center to life in the area," stated Jason Jones, Hansji Hotels Vice President of Real Estate. "A lot of time, energy and hard work went into this project by everyone involved. We didn't just go in and do an attractive face-lift; we were committed to creating a property representative of the new Phoenix."
Before the renovation, the Sunshine Hotel could only be described as dated. Metal-framed windows were the most prominent feature on the drab gray exterior, which was made darker by a solid roof over the check-in area, thick vegetation in need of maintenance, and an empty parking lot as far as the eye could see. Inside, the hotel was in no better shape, with a pink-and-mauve color scheme carried from the lobby to the utilitarian guest rooms.
One $8 million renovation and twelve months later, guests of the Radisson Phoenix City Center will find no hint of the Sunshine Hotel. Architectural details add interest to the Radisson's exterior, while all 160 guest rooms and suites are now luxuriously appointed. Sixteen new cabana suites surround their own private rooftop pool. The executive-style lobby boasts dark wood, recessed lighting and marble floors. And with a brand-new, full-service bar with patio seating, the Hacienda restaurant and a ballroom with pre-function breakout rooms, the Radisson Phoenix City Center provides world-class dining options and an elegant setting for events.
But the crown jewel of the new Radisson Phoenix City Center is the property's three acres of lush landscaping accessible only by hotel guests. A new amphitheater is capable of hosting outdoor events of up to 200 people, while two waterfall pools offer ample relaxation.
"Midtown Phoenix is reinventing itself into a sophisticated urban hub of culture and entertainment," said Sajan Hansji, principal of Hansji Hotels. "Hansji Hotels is pleased to have had a part in that reinvention."
