. February 12, 2014

Florence, Italy - February 12, 2014 - Travelers will soon have a new stylish address to call home while visiting Florence this spring. Lungarno Collection's Portrait Firenze is set to open in May 2014, and the Ferragamo family-owned hospitality group is unveiling design details that will draw guests to celebrate the fashionable heritage for which the city is known.

Located along the Ponte Vecchio, the hotel is exclusively designed by Florentine architect Michele Bonan, who also designed the other properties in the collection. Portrait Firenze's lavish style and bespoke designs evoke a historic experience for every traveler. Bonan describes Portrait Firenze in one word: "Aristocratic." His primary inspiration was to create a timelessly elegant space and have harmony prevail through the use of simple lines. The property acts as an inspired 'storyteller', donning a photographic reportage throughout suites and public spaces portraying the lifestyle and glamour in Florence starting from the 1950's when the concept of 'Made in Italy' was born, while also paying homage to Florentine craftsmanship. Design details include portraits with Florence as the backdrop, showcasing famous streets, iconic monuments, and images depicting memorable celebrations and influential people.

Suites range from 430 to 1,400 square feet with a stunning penthouse floor boasting 2,938 square feet of space. Guests can expect unsurpassed Italian luxury including bespoke vintage furniture produced by Italian manufacturer Tosconova, dedicated to the 'Made in Italy' heritage of uncompromised quality; hand-picked Carrara marble covering each bathroom; an extensive pillow menu catering to each guest's preference; luxe terry bathrobes with Salvatore Ferragamo bath amenities; cotton satin mako bedding; superb fabrics with gold details; and warm hued wood furniture. Bonan played with colors and materials, choosing contrasting tones of opaque grey and dark brown, steel with metal and gold accents, organic wood, and sumptuous textiles to create a harmonious atmosphere. Bonan also focused on the maximization of light with oversized windows and rooms that allow natural light to fill each space and emphasize the property's unparalleled views of the river and surrounding city.

Guests will have access to Portrait Firenze's innovative technology, further enhancing their "Portrait" experience with flat-screen TVs, Bluetooth systems offering an entire library of music and films, or the possibility to synchronize all your multimedia content with an E-butler available to assist in all multimedia requests, complimentary iPads, docking stations, stereo systems, advanced temperature controls and Wi-Fi.

In additon to enjoying the design and technology details of Portrait Firenze, guests can take advantage of the unsurpassed service offered by the the property's Lifestyle Team. A cornerstone of the "Portrait experience," the team will personally assist all guests from in-room requests to organizing exclusive experiences during their stay in Florence.
