GRACE BAY, Turks and Caicos - March 11, 2015 - The Somerset on Grace Bay, a five-star luxury resort on the world-famous beach on Turks and Caicos, is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Executive Manager E. Rhonda Bastian.
Bastian's responsibilities span overseeing the front office and housekeeping, conducting staff training throughout the resort on an ongoing basis and the planning and execution of onsite events. She also participates in marketing and revenue planning at the 53 villa and suite luxury resort. Drawing on the breadth of her hospitality experience, Bastian is a key member of the resort's leadership team and reports to Managing Director Urmas Karner.
A native of the Bahamas, Bastian brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience to the position. Her career includes various leadership positions at some of the Caribbean's most recognized properties including such Bahamas properties as The Cove and The Reefs Atlantis on Paradise Island, British Colonial Hilton and the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort & Spa in Nassau. Bastian has also worked at destination management company Cacique International and has been a head agent, supervisor and certified trainer with American Airlines. She is a graduate of the American Airlines Learning Center and the Bahamas Hotel Training College.
