BANGKOK, August 18, 2005. The Fortune Hotel Bangkok is officially rebranded Grand Mercure Fortune Bangkok today marking the entry of Accor's Grand Mercure brand to Thailand.

The hotel has recently completed a multi-million US dollar renovation to rooms and public areas, enhancing its already impressive facilities and services. Grand Mercure Fortune Bangkok offers six restaurants and bars, an entertainment complex with pub and 21 room karaoke outlet, a ballroom capable of handling 1,000 participants theatre style supported by nine additional meeting rooms, fitness centre, spa and swimming pool.

The 400-room hotel combines traditional Thai hospitality and international management in a prime city location, with a Bangkok Mass Rapid Transit (Phra Ram 9 Station) underground station right at its doorstep. The central business, shopping, cultural and entertainment districts are just minutes away.

Corporate travelers will enjoy staying on the hotel's two Club Prestige Floors, which feature a modern business centre, exclusive Club Prestige Executive Lounge and high-speed wireless Internet. Leisure guests will find the convenience of the adjacent Fortune Town Shopping Mall irresistible with its over 1,000 retail outlets and IT mall connected to the hotel. "The hotel is located within 25 minutes of both the new Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang International Airports and all major convention venues around Bangkok. Having a subway station right out front connects guests with many of Bangkok's commercial centres and leisure attractions around the city. We are pleased the hotel is joining a growing portfolio of Mercure hotels and resorts around Asia. The timing is excellent, as we believe there will be increased demand from corporate and leisure customers for the Grand Mercure Fortune Bangkok."
