These owners are first applicant under Anaheim, California's new Four-Diamond Hotel Incentive Policy

ANAHEIM, CA. November 10, 2015 - The owners of the property at 1700 South Harbor Boulevard at the southeast corner or Disney Way and Harbor Boulevard (site of the current Anaheim Plaza Hotel) in Anaheim have filed an application with the City to redevelop the property to a new, 580-room luxury hotel under the City's recently adopted Four-Diamond Hotel Incentive Policy.

Good Hope International, the owner of the Anaheim Plaza Hotel site and a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based Wincome Group, filed the preliminary development application with the Anaheim Planning Department on Tuesday, November 3, 2015.

"We are big believers in the Anaheim hotel and tourism market," said Paul Sanford, asset manager for the Wincome Group in Orange County. "With the recent decisions by the City to expand the Anaheim Convention Center and by Disneyland to invest another one billion dollars in Anaheim, it is clear that this will continue to be one of the top tourism markets in the world for decades to come. This is the right time to bring a new luxury hotel to Anaheim, and we're excited to be the first applicant under the City's Four-Diamond Hotel Policy."

Plans for the redevelopment of 1700 South Harbor Boulevard include 580 luxury hotel rooms with a healthy mix of suites; a grand entrance off of Harbor Blvd.; a luxury pool and spa on the second deck of the hotel in a stunning central courtyard, 50,000 square feet of meeting space; 25,600 square feet of retail facing Harbor Blvd. including a signature restaurant at the corner or Harbor and Disney Way; and a pedestrian bridge connecting the rear of the property directly into the GardenWalk Mall near the soon-to-be relocated House of Blues.

Wincome Group is a long time participant in the Anaheim hotel market. Wincome, through subsidiaries, also owns and operates the Anabella Hotel on Katella Avenue just west of the Anaheim Convention Center, and continues to operate the Carousel Inn & Suites on Harbor Blvd., north of Disney Way, under contract after selling the property to The Walt Disney Company. Elsewhere in Orange County, another Wincome Group-affiliated company owns and operates the Avenue of the Arts Hotel in Costa Mesa, which recently announced a rebranding to join the Tribute Collection, a Starwood hotel group of independently-branded luxury hotels.

The application to redevelop the site will be in the Anaheim Planning Department for two to three months, and is expected to be before the Anaheim Planning Commission in early spring 2016, and before the Anaheim City Council in late spring or early summer.
