LTD Management Building an aloft in Richmond VA
RICHMOND, VA, April 11, 2007. Richmond's first aloft hotel, the new form and function focused hotel brand from the W Hotel line, is breaking ground at the West Broad Village Town Center in Short Pump in the Fall of 2007. Chesapeake, Virginia-based LTD Management Company, L.L.C. (LTD), owns and manages the project, slated to open in Fall 2008. The high end aloft in Short Pump is one of only three slated to be developed in Virginia over the next two years. This is LTD's second aloft in Virginia- the other is located in Chesapeake.
The aloft will be located above the Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant and other high end restaurants and retail outlets in the Town Center. It will feature 135 rooms, complete with loft-like design including exposed beams and structural steel, natural materials like cork, teak and wood, and guestrooms with nine foot ceilings and oversized windows to allow for more natural light. The aloft's unique products and services are eco-friendly including hotel design elements made from recycled materials. aloft's signature amenities include the splash pool, the relax communal lobby area and bar and the backyard, a grassy space that encourages guest interaction. The aloft hotels also feature flexible meeting and function space for the business community in Richmond.

A vision of W hotels, aloft is a new genre based off previous brands. All rooms feature large flat panel televisions and the most recent electronics. Each guest room features plug & play, a signature one-stop connectivity solution for multiple electronic gadgetry such as blackberries, cell phones, mp3 players and laptops. These can all be linked to a large flat panel HDTV television.
