John DePiro Takes the Helm at Fort Lauderdale Marriott North at General Manager

Fort Lauderdale, FL - December 29, 2015 - Fort Lauderdale Marriott North welcomes new leader, John DePiro as General Manager. With over 25 years of hotel industry experience, DePiro will utilize his extensive skill set and team building expertise to elevate Fort Lauderdale Marriott North's anticipatory service, guest relations and revenue, while the entire hotel is going through a significant reinvention and upgrade.

DePiro most recently served as Area General Manager at Hilton Melbourne Beach & DoubleTree Suites Melbourne Beach Oceanfront in Melbourne, Fla., where he oversaw all administrative tasks with attentive focus on service and loyalty tracking. As General Manager, DePiro enhanced annual hotel revenue, while showing significant improvement in overall service. Prior, DePiro served as general manager for Chesapeake Hospitality properties, Holiday Inn Laurel-West in Washington, D.C. and Crowne Plaza Hampton Marina in Hampton Roads, Va. As General Manager, DePiro was able to effectively exercise his skills in asset management cost control. He improved the Heartbeat Satisfaction scores for both hotels, exemplifying an enhanced shift in overall service scores. Additional noteworthy experiences include General Manager of Omni Hotel Newport News in Newport News, Va. and department head of full service operations positions across the executive committee of Marriott and Hilton Embassy Suites.
