Basin Harbor Club - Vergennes, VT
Basin Harbor Club, a charming resort located on Lake Champlain in Vermont, will debut renovations this May to their Town Hall meetings and event space, which was formally the hay loft for the resort's barn. The interiors will be lightened with fresh paint, accenting the 17-foot high ceilings, and new furnishings will be added including three dramatic chandeliers, light-blocking drapes and new carpeting.
In addition to their new meetings space, Basin Harbor Club is also launching their “Reveal Dinners” where guests are given a location and time to meet and from that starting point, the menus for a cocktail reception, dinner and dessert will be “revealed” throughout the course of the evening, culminating in a unique outdoor dining experience for the group. Menus will be served family-style and can be customized based on dietary restrictions and dining preferences. Package pricing starts at $100 per person.
For larger groups or those looking for exclusivity for their summer or fall event, Basin Harbor Club is offering select dates in May, June, September and October which are available for reserving the entire resort. With 149 guestrooms and cottages available, along with 700 acres of land, groups have ample space to enjoy all that Basin Harbor Club has to offer.

Ocean Reef Club - Key Largo, FL
The Ocean Reef Club, a gated 2,500-acre private club-community with a 175-slip marina and a 4,400-feet lighted airstrip, has recently debuted a variety of new offerings for groups including a conference center, Carysfort Hall, which offers a beautiful, modern space designed to accommodate groups of up to 500 guests including meetings, weddings and social gatherings. Highly functional and flexible with a residential feel, the newly designed conference center features a 5,688-square-foot ballroom, five additional meeting rooms and covered terraces along the marina for outdoor functions.
The Ocean Reef Club has also introduced a food truck for group breaks or beach parties where groups can choose from a series of themed menus for breakfast and lunch breaks, or take the truck out to the nearby Buccaneer Island and add a bonfire and s'mores party.
Saybrook Point Inn & Spa - Old Saybrook, CT
The family-owned and operated AAA Four Diamond waterfront inn in historic Old Saybrook, Connecticut has recently opened two new Tall Tales Luxury Guesthouses, exclusive high-end accommodations which provide a unique space for smaller groups. The new Victorian-era Italianate-style homes overlooking the Long Island Sound replicate the architecture and interior design of the period and offer secluded gardens and common areas with traditional billiards, classic games, timeless literature and a lounge area for receptions and breakouts. Each house contains six individually designed rooms with private balconies, cozy fireplaces, European bedding, fine hand-woven linens, original artwork by local artists and stunning water views. As an incentive to book the guesthouses for meetings, the property is offering a Spring Fever Meeting Package which includes free passes to the Connecticut River Museum in Essex, CT and a complimentary wine tasting for up to 16 people.
Skytop Lodge - Skytop, PA
Skytop Lodge, a Poconos Mountain resort popular with groups and corporate retreats, has renovated their former library space and turned it into the Skytop “Library Lounge.” The new lounge, which can accommodate up to 60 people, features a true oak bar that seats 15, a fireplace, filled bookshelves, cozy seating and walls lined with historical photos of the property, pictures of previous guests as well as photographs by local photographers. After daylong meetings, the lounge provides a perfect location for guests to casually gather and unwind from the day.
The Breakers - Palm Beach, FL
Following an $8 million renovation, The Spa at The Breakers has become a coveted amenity for resort meetings. The new indoor/outdoor Spa embraces guests with a relaxed, modern style — calling to mind The Breakers' casual, seaside sophistication and Italian influence — and nurtures them with heightened comfort and care. The Spa comes as part of a larger wellness initiative following the debut of Ocean Fitness - a 6,000-square-foot, indoor/outdoor oceanfront fitness center. Both additions were funded by The Breakers' annual capital improvements budget, which allocates a minimum investment of $30 million each year, ensuring that the independent resort stays on a path of continuous enhancement and continue to meet its guests' ever-growing expectations.
In addition to wellness, the resort also excels in their culinary offerings and has been a pioneer in its focus on procuring sustainably grown and local products from area farmers and food purveyors. One of property's latest group food and beverage offerings is their Localecopia Experience Dinner, which incorporates an array of locally sourced ingredients. This sustainability-focused dinner takes its name from a grassroots organization that connects local farmers with area chefs/restauranteurs (originally founded by two resort executives).
Another popular culinary offering from the resort is their custom-blended house wines in partnership with Mas la Chevaliere, a vineyard in the Languadoc region in the south of France, which are served at hundreds of premium banquet events throughout the year.
About Kindred Resorts & Hotels
Kindred Resorts & Hotels is a collection of independent hotels and resorts in North America focused exclusively on the group and meetings market. The consortia is a division of the Resort Hotel Association (RHA), which was founded by the members of what is now the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) Resort Committee. Kindred was formed to help boutique properties that offer authentic, highly personalized experiences build awareness and inquiry from the group, meetings and events markets. With over 58 participating properties across the United States, each participating venue offers uniquely authentic and local experiences, which vary from rustic lakeside retreats to luxury golf resorts and destination spas.
