Obie Hospitality Names Curt Asmussen Managing Director

Curt Asmussen has been named managing director of Obie Hospitality, a new role for the growing Eugene, Oregon-based company which recently announced plans to build the third hotel in its expanding portfolio of very special boutique hotels in Western United States communities.

As managing director, Asmussen is responsible for ensuring that guests receive a consistently unique experience across Obie's hospitality platforms, including preparing for the opening of The Gordon Hotel in early 2020.

Asmussen has more than 15 years of hospitality experience and was most recently the general manager at The Inn at 500 Capitol in Boise, Idaho, an Obie hotel that opened in early 2017. Prior to that, he worked as the director of sales and was instrumental in the pre-opening and opening success of the property. He holds a degree in marketing and advertising from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Asmussen will remain based in Boise in his new role.
