USA, Dallas, Texas. March 15, 2021

Dallas-based Prism Hotels & Resorts, an award-winning, full-service hotel management, investment and advisory services company, announced today the addition of the Sheraton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort to its portfolio of notable resorts nationally that also includes the El Conquistador Tucson, a Hilton Resort and the Westin Stonebriar Hotel and Golf Club. Prism Hotels & Resorts' President and CEO Steve Van made the announcement.

"Welcoming the Sheraton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort to our family of properties is a pivotal moment for us as we've had a great track record with resort and destination properties. Even during this time of industry crisis, we are continuing to expand our portfolio, and more importantly, we're delivering results for our owners," said Van. "Keeping our entire talented corporate staff has allowed us to service our owners in ways that others simply can't. We're seeing that our investment in maintaining a happy and motivated staff is paying off by having a direct correlation to the bottom line. With our brand relationships intact, we've tapped into a success formula that is working."

With 486 rooms including 86 suites spanning six floors, the Sheraton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort is in the heart of Orlando's tourism hub. Located just one mile from Walt Disney World®, this incredible property offers convenient access to world-class attractions, dining options, outlet shopping and much more, as well as four restaurants and two bars on-property. Guests can enjoy a relaxing stay with a full-service spa, two outdoor pools with a poolside bar and 24-hour fitness center. The resort also features nine event rooms and a total of 31,196 square feet in meeting and event space. Guest rooms are outfitted with stylish, modern décor, plush beds and private balconies.

Building and cultivating relationships is at the heart of how Prism operates. The company is working collaboratively with L+R Hotels (London and Regional Hotels) which assumed ownership of the resort and concurrently transferred management to Prism.

In the fourth quarter of 2020, Prism announced a slew of leadership promotions and the addition of personnel across several departments to best service their portfolio. For more information, please visit www.prismhotels.com.

Food & Beverage: Necessity Breeds Invention

Hotel restaurants were not immune to the devastation that Covid caused in the food & beverage industry last year. In order to survive, many operations expanded their services to include packaged food sales, prepared meals to go, mini pop-up grocery stores, meal kits, takeout, and delivery to make up for lost revenues. These hybrid operations have become increasingly popular in hotels because they maximize limited F&B space and also attract local business. In those restaurants where customers are willing to dine in, there is a greater emphasis on safety protocols. Tables and chairs are spaced far enough apart to provide a sense of safety and comfort between parties. There are also stricter cleaning and disinfecting practices occurring in between dining encounters. In addition, there is a greater emphasis on outdoor dining with its offer of fresh air. The August issue of the Hotel Business Review will report on what some leading hotels are doing to manage their F&B operations in the wake of the pandemic.
