Hotel 1000 Seattle Joins LXR Hotels & Resorts

August Transition Makes the City's Celebrated Luxury Urban Resort LXR's Third U.S. Property

USA, Seattle, Washington. September 14, 2021

LXR Hotels & Resorts has officially entered the United States' Pacific Northwest region with the addition of Hotel 1000 Seattle, a 120-room urban luxury retreat located in the city's vibrant Downtown business and arts district. The property, previously known as Loews Hotel 1000, joined the LXR portfolio in late August 2021, making it the third domestic addition to Hilton's luxury collection brand and the first LXR property in the region. The transition will be followed by a 2022 renovation to further elevate the guest experience with added amenities, and enhanced design.

Located at First Avenue and Madison Street, Hotel 1000 is ideally positioned just steps from the city's iconic Pike Place Market and waterfront park, and also within walking distance to notable attractions including the Seattle Art Museum, T Mobile Park, Lumen Field and the Space Needle. Characterized as a luxury urban resort, Hotel 1000 effortlessly marries the sophistication and sleek design reflective of Seattle's stylish metropolitan core with the amenities and service typically experienced at a high-end resort. Upscale offerings include a full-service spa, the city's only virtual-reality Golf Club simulating over 50 courses from around the world, and wine tasting room. Additionally, guests in search of an unforgettable dining experience can indulge in the freshest locally-sourced seafood, regional wines and creative cocktails at the property's signature All Water Seafood & Oyster Bar.

Each of Hotel 1000's stylishly-appointed guest rooms and suites offers spectacular views of the surrounding cityscape or the waters of Elliott Bay and Puget Sound. High-end residential furnishings and design offer a seamless juxtaposition of Emerald City urban chic and the classically elegant colors and textures of the region's lush natural surroundings. In-room features include expansive windows, 42" flat screen TVs, lux pedestal soaking tubs and spa-inspired bath amenities.

In addition to offering an unparalleled leisure experience, the property's 9,100 square feet of meetings and events space including the refined Bainbridge ballroom, Marrowstone library and outdoor Greenhouse terrace, make it the area's preeminent venue for elegant urban weddings accommodating ceremonies and receptions of up to 120 guests. For business meetings and corporate events, the property features seven distinct event spaces featuring an abundance of natural light, modern technology and custom catering menus.

As the newest addition to LXR Hotels & Resorts, guests of Hotel 1000 Seattle can now earn and redeem Points through the Hilton Honors guest loyalty program, plus enjoy additional benefits including contactless check-in, and Confirmed Connected Rooms.

Coming up in October 2021...

Revenue Management: Monetizing All Offerings

Of all the departments within hotel operations, Revenue Management may have been the hardest hit, due to the pandemic. The logic goes - no revenue, no need for revenue managers - so many industry professionals were furloughed. If business rebounds in 2021, as expected, then hotel management will have to determine when prevailing occupancy levels justify bringing back their revenue management team. Also, the pandemic seems to have exposed some weaknesses in the traditional RevPAR models. There is a growing understanding that it is no longer sufficient to use a "revenue per available room" model; instead, hotels are adopting a TRevPAR model (total revenue per available room). This model recognizes that revenue streams from other departments are just as important as the revenue gained from rooms. As a result, hotels are looking at ways to monetize any and all hotel offerings - from dining outlets and spas to outdoor function spaces and local partnerships. The October issue of the Hotel Business Review will examine these developments and report on how some leading hotels are executing their revenue management strategies.
