Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler Welcomes Estreya Gosalbez as General Manager

Canada, Toronto, Ontario. April 22, 2022

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler welcomes Estreya Gosalbez as the new General Manager of the intimate mountain lodge. Following a long career in hospitality, Estreya returns to her first ever Four Seasons property to oversee both the Hotel and Residences.

"Whistler is where I started my Four Seasons career and where I got to know the high standards and incredible culture of the brand, so this really feels like the full circle," says Estreya. She adds "I couldn't be more excited to take on a new challenge in this luxury mountain resort."

Originally from Madrid, Estreya began her career as Concierge at the Resort's Private Residences. From there, she was off to an exciting journey with the company with her next stop at Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire in 2007, where she spent five years in various roles in the rooms division.

Bringing a unique energy, charisma and flare to her work, Estreya is always up for a challenge in hospitality - change of scenery has always been present throughout her Four Seasons career. From London to Buenos Aires, Scottsdale and Atlanta, she has held executive-level positions in multiple destinations, igniting her passion for the hotel industry.

Estreya's world tour and excellent background led to her most recent role as Hotel Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Miami. During her time in Miami, Estreya was responsible for all operational aspects of the Hotel and she created a very strong partnership with the many stakeholders of the building.

Outside of work, Estreya enjoys Zumba classes, walks on the beach and attending concerts. Her family loves the outdoors and they look forward to trading the sand for snow. "Funny enough, I have kept my snowboard gear from my time in Whistler. I look forward to dusting it off to hit the slopes again," says the General Manager.

Though she enjoyed her many years of exploring different countries, Estreya looks forward to her return to Whistler as first-time General Manager and re-discovering the adventurous mountain lifestyle with her husband and two young daughters.

Hotel Spa: Now More Than Ever

In the aftermath of the global health crisis, there is a newfound appreciation for the need to be fit - both in body and mind - and hotels that provide a spa or wellness clinic will reap the rewards. What are clients seeking? Better health, fitness, nutrition, appearance, sleep and mindfulness. It is no longer sufficient for spas to only offer massages or facials; clients are demanding more for the benefit of their overall well-being. For example, a medical spa might offer services such as botox, dermal fillers, body sculpting, and microdermabrasion. Other spas are emphasizing the importance of preventative therapeutics and are using technologies such as body scanners to evaluate their clients' health. Some spas are enlisting osteopaths, naturopaths, fitness coaches, yoga masters, even psychologists, to promote vitality, stress management, and emotional balance. The July issue of the Hotel Business Review will report on these and other advancements, and document how some hotel spas are integrating them into their operations.
