Hilton Aventura Miami Welcomes Marcos Flores as Executive Chef

USA, Miami, Florida. April 13, 2022

Hilton Aventura Miami, the latest luxury property to adorn the Aventura skyline, centrally-located between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, is proud to announce a new Executive Chef in 20-year industry veteran, Marcos Flores. Hailing from Fort Lauderdale Marriott North, where he served as Executive Chef, and with previous roles at Le Meridien by Marriott in Dania Beach and the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood, Chef Flores is no stranger to large-scale projects nor South Florida.

In this new role, he will oversee all food and beverage execution and operation at the hotel's venues, including its signature restaurant Gala, serving South American infused cuisine and traditional favorites for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, as well as the poolside bar and grill and room service offerings. Additionally, boasting the area's second-largest grand ballroom and one of few with its own events kitchen, Hilton Aventura Miami is built to cater to meetings, banquets, and special events, a component that as Executive Chef, Flores will also oversee - ensuring quality, consistency and inventiveness for groups of all sizes.

"Now, a year since its opening, Hilton Aventura Miami has become a favorite for sun-seeking vacationers visiting South Florida, and a no-brainer for both locals and visitors planning a special event - making it more important than ever to bring in fresh and qualified talent," said Royston Brady, General Manager of Hilton Aventura Miami. "With a stellar background and proven track record of managing teams to success while infusing culinary programs with creativity and passion, we're thrilled to welcome Marcos Flores to Hilton Aventura."

Prior to joining Hilton Aventura Miami, Chef Flores served as Executive Chef at Fort Lauderdale Marriott North, where he directed and organized operations at all of the property's venues. In addition to his South Florida experience, Chef Flores has led projects throughout the country, including a role as Executive Chef and General Manager at FARE GROUND, a favored food hall in downtown Austin and Director of Outlets for more than 11 venues inside the Latinicity Food Hall in Downtown Chicago. Known for adding a distinctive flare to every dish and menu he envisions, Flores plans to continue elevating the already impassioned cuisine provided by Hilton Aventura Miami's signature restaurant and events kitchen - ensuring the hotel continues to rise as a top culinary-minded offering to South Florida and beyond.

Hotel Spa: Now More Than Ever

In the aftermath of the global health crisis, there is a newfound appreciation for the need to be fit - both in body and mind - and hotels that provide a spa or wellness clinic will reap the rewards. What are clients seeking? Better health, fitness, nutrition, appearance, sleep and mindfulness. It is no longer sufficient for spas to only offer massages or facials; clients are demanding more for the benefit of their overall well-being. For example, a medical spa might offer services such as botox, dermal fillers, body sculpting, and microdermabrasion. Other spas are emphasizing the importance of preventative therapeutics and are using technologies such as body scanners to evaluate their clients' health. Some spas are enlisting osteopaths, naturopaths, fitness coaches, yoga masters, even psychologists, to promote vitality, stress management, and emotional balance. The July issue of the Hotel Business Review will report on these and other advancements, and document how some hotel spas are integrating them into their operations.
