Marquis Los Cabos, one of the Leading Hotels of the World, has announced the exciting addition of new Executive Chef, Claudio Hotter, and promotion of longtime team member, Casandra Luna, to director of sales and marketing.

"We are thrilled to welcome Executive Chef Claudio Hotter to the Marquis Los Cabos family and share the appointment of our new Director of Sales & Marketing, Cassandra Luna, a longtime resort employee and dear friend" said General Manager, Claudia Perez. "Marquis Los Cabos prides itself on the highest standard of excellence and service, and are confident that Chef Hotter and Ms. Luna will continue our tradition of authentic, thoughtful luxury and meaningful, exceptional guest experiences."

Executive Chef Claudio Hotter has officially taken the helm of Marquis Los Cabos' culinary program, with an illustrious resume that spans a selection of Mexico hotels, and a deep understanding and passion for healthy and culturally-inspired cuisine. A creative and innovative leader, he previously held the role of executive chef at Five-Star Iberostar Selection Playa Mita prior to a 10-year residence at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. Hotter has also held positions at The Grand Mayan Riviera Maya and Restaurant Canela La Manga in Spain, to name a few. Hotter's epicurean vision will deploy across Marquis Los Cabos' five dining concepts, with authenticity, regionally-inspired flavors and thoughtful, savory dishes and plates.

Marquis Los Cabos is also pleased to share the well-deserved promotion of Casandra Luna to director of sales and marketing. Luna has been with the hotel for over six years, beginning as a tour and travel manager before working her way up to her most recent role, associate director of sales. Luna has also held jobs within the sales and marketing realms at Tesoro Resorts and Villa Group Resorts. Combining her devotion and extensive knowledge of the destination with years of exceptional customer service and strategic experience, Luna is a tactical and imaginative force that drives revenue growth and envisions Marquis Los Cabos' experiences to be one-of-a-kind for leisure travelers and groups alike.

Sales & Marketing: Integrating Technology

The Sales & Marketing department is responsible for maximizing a hotel's revenue by developing programs to increase occupancy and to make profitable use of its meeting and leisure facilities. Increasingly, managers are utilizing sophisticated digital technology to help them achieve those goals. Virtual Reality is being integrated into booking engines which provide potential guests the opportunity to tour a property from afar, including wedding, event and food & beverage facilities. Voice Search has also become a popular marketing tool. Using smart home devices, it's now possible for customers to book hotels entirely through voice commands. Chatbots are becoming more ubiquitous as hotels seek to refine their online customer service. Chatbots can answer common questions, push key marketing messages, increase direct bookings, and even guide customers through the booking process. Finally, hotels are already preparing for the debut of the Metaverse and planning how sales and marketing departments will fully participate. The June Hotel Business Review will focus on the sales and marketing strategies that some hotels are adopting and how they are benefiting from them.
