The Smokehouse Restaurant at Antrim 1844 Names New Executive Chef

Taneytown, Maryland Fine-Dining Restaurant Welcomes Inti Villalobos-Coady

The Smokehouse Restaurant at Antrim 1844, a romantic, fine-dining restaurant with New American fare has appointed Inti Villalobos-Coady as Executive Chef. The restaurant is set in the historic, mansion-hotel, Antrim 1844, in Taneytown, Maryland.

Villalobos-Coady joins The Smokehouse Restaurant at Antrim 1844 with nearly 19 years of culinary experience. Most recently, he served as the Executive Chef at Vermilion in Alexandria, Virginia, well-known for its tasting menu and wine pairings. Additionally, Villalobos-Coady has held leadership roles at other premier restaurants, including 2941 in Falls Church, Virginia and Brabo Brasserie in Alexandria.

"We are honored to have Inti join our team to lead our culinary operations," said Christopher McRoy, general manager of Antrim 1844. "His vast experience, expertise and passion will continue to elevate the restaurant."

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Villalobos-Coady has been interested in the culinary industry since he was a child. From watching in awe at 5-years-old as his great-grandmother cooked in the kitchen, starting as a dishwasher at 13-years-old, to graduating from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, he remains passionate about learning new techniques and teaching aspiring culinary professionals.

"Food is a real representation of who you are and where you came from; people can look at a single ingredient and think of so many different things to do with it and that varies from person to person," said the newly appointed Executive Chef. "Everyone can share an idea and that's how we grow."

In his new position at Antrim 1844, Villalobos-Coady will be responsible for the dining experiences in the Smokehouse Restaurant, weddings, corporate retreats, and private dining events.

"Antrim 1844 has been in some incredible hands and as a new chef coming in, we need to pay respect to the previous leads and show a new and exciting chapter to this already phenomenal property," said Villalobos-Coady. "We have an amazing team in both the kitchen and dining room, and we want to just continue to elevate the experience for our guests."

Hotels are still very concerned about adhering to all required sanitation protocols but as the crisis wanes, they are also being relied upon to provide a space to escape and retreat in comfort. To satisfy this need, many new design trends are emerging. One such trend seeks to cultivate an environment that is comparable to the warmth and coziness  a traveler might have in their home.
