Microtel to Break Ground in North London, Ontario

. October 14, 2008

NOVEMBER 27, 2007. Microtel Inns & Suites, the award-winning chain of all new-construction economy/limited service hotels, will break ground on a new hotel in North London, Ontario in March 2008. The hotel, scheduled to open next fall, is located at 705 Fanshawe Park Road West, two miles from the London Health Centre Hospital and University of Western Ontario. It is being developed by London resident Bill Fellner on the current site of the Lighthouse Inn Motel.

"North London will finally have a new hotel," said Bill Fellner, a professional engineer and president of Willardco Ltd., a local land development firm. "Microtel will provide quality economy lodging to both business and leisure guests, and be the perfect addition to this area." Fellner bought the aging Lighthouse Inn Motel three years ago, realizing the need for a new hotel in the north end of the city.

The London Microtel hotel will feature three floors with 70 single, double and suite accommodations. Amenities will include free wireless high speed Internet (WIFI) access in all guestrooms; free local calls and phones with data port and voice mail; cable television with over 30 channels, and complimentary daily continental breakfast. There will also be an indoor pool, exercise area, meeting rooms and outside patio. The London hotel will offer the brand's stylish new bedding known as Dream WellTM and innovative newly designed suites with four "zones" for working, eating, sleeping and relaxing, along with color-coordinated guestroom palettes for an altogether contemporary and inviting guest experience.

In addition to the new London hotel, the Microtel brand recently announced six more Canadian hotels being developed in Woodstock, Ontario and Atlantic Canada (St. John and Moncton, New Brunswick, and Halifax, Dartmouth and Sydney, Nova Scotia). Microtel's first Canadian property opened in 2006 in Parry Sound, Ontario.
