The Compton Appoints Emily Reynolds as Director of Sales and Marketing

USA, Bentonville, Arkansas. August 29, 2025

The Compton, a new independent lifestyle hotel set to open on Bentonville's historic square this fall, announces the appointment of Emily Reynolds as the founding director of sales and marketing. With nearly two decades of experience in hotel strategy and team leadership, the hospitality veteran will spearhead the property's sales, marketing and revenue initiatives ahead of its highly anticipated opening.

Reynolds brings a proven track record of transforming commercial performance across a diverse portfolio of hotels, from boutique openings to nationally branded properties. In her most recent role at Phoenix American Hospitality, she oversaw sales and revenue strategy for six hotels throughout Arkansas and Louisiana, generating more than $31 million in annual revenue and leading a cross-functional team spanning sales, marketing and operations. Throughout her career, she has built and mentored top-performing teams at Aimbridge Hospitality, Lodgestar Investments and Westmont Hospitality Group, earning national recognition as a two-time VIP Sales Executive and a Marriott Horizon Award winner.

Reynolds' appointment marks the first key hire for The Compton, which is being developed by Blue Crane and managed by Practice Hospitality. Inspired by the legacy of Dr. Neil Compton, a renowned conservationist who played a pivotal role in preserving the Buffalo River by designating it as the first National River, the hotel is envisioned as a homebase for outdoor adventure, cultural discovery and community connection.

"As a Bentonville native, I'm incredibly honored to help launch a hotel that deeply reflects the spirit of this region," said Reynolds. "The Compton is a celebration of everything that makes Northwest Arkansas special, and I look forward to building a team that brings its unique story to life."

In her new role, Reynolds will lead commercial team recruitment, sales and marketing strategy, strategic partnerships and market activation. Her efforts will be critical in establishing The Compton as a distinctive destination within the region, one that resonates with both visitors and the local community, while honoring the natural beauty and cultural richness of the Ozarks.

"Emily's appointment reflects our belief that great hospitality starts with great leadership," said Bashar Wali, founder and CEO of Practice Hospitality. "Her depth of experience, market insight and people-first mindset make her ideally suited to launch The Compton and help shape it as both a local cornerstone and a destination in its own right."
