Recently Expanded Evergreen Lodge at Yosemite Announces Packages to Celebrate Extraordinary Fall Sea

GROVELAND, CA, August 29, 2005. Evergreen Lodge, a classic Yosemite destination with unsurpassed year-round recreation and activities, announces exceptional packages featuring recreation and indulgence to commemorate the upcoming spectacular fall season in the Park.

"Many 'in the know' consider fall the best season to enjoy Yosemite Park: the crowds of summer are gone, the weather remains summer-like, and the Lodge's hiking, fishing, and naturalist programs enable our guests to have the most memorable visit possible," said owner Lee Zimmerman. "The massive snow pack from last winter will make this fall particularly impressive, creating ideal fly fishing conditions in lakes and rivers. Waterfalls that are usually dry by now will still be flowing, and the best wildflower year in memory will continue with vibrant displays above 8,000 feet."

Evergreen's packages include the Ultimate Yosemite Getaway, Yosemite Romance, Fall Fly Fishing, and Fall Hike or Bike to Waterfalls, which are available throughout the fall and include accommodations, select meals, special amenities and complimentary onsite activities.

The Ultimate Yosemite Getaway, priced at $670 per couple ($710 on weekends, includes two nights' lodging, a full-day guided naturalist hike or bike trip (complete with box lunches and Evergreen water bottles), two one-hour full-body massages, breakfast both days, a happy hour beverage both nights, a three-course dinner, and a special memento: a framed historic photo of Yosemite's Hetch Hetchy Valley before construction of the O'Shaughnessy Dam.

The Yosemite Romance package, priced at $425 per couple ($465 on weekends, features a two-night stay in a cabin with gas fireplace, welcome basket and champagne, full breakfast each morning, box lunches for an afternoon getaway, a happy hour beverage, a three-course dinner, and late checkout. Two one-hour full-body massages can be added to the package for an additional $150.

The Fall Fly Fishing package includes two nights' lodging, breakfast, a full-day (six hours) private guided fly fishing trip (beginner and experienced trips available; equipment included), a box lunch, a happy hour beverage each night, and a three-course dinner. Rates for couples and family packages begin at $625 and $850, respectively.

The Fall Hike or Bike to Waterfalls package includes two nights' lodging, breakfast, a full-day guided bike trip to waterfalls (bike rental included) or a full-day guided naturalist hike, a box lunch, and a happy hour beverage each night. Rates for couples and family packages begin at $400 and $595, respectively. Packages are subject to availability of guided trips at the time of booking. Guests are welcome to enjoy the Lodge's restaurant and outdoor dining area, tavern, general store with soda fountain, and recreation center, whose great room features a fireplace, free Internet and free long distance phone service. In addition, the Lodge offers complimentary daily activities such as campfires with S'mores, full moon walks, ranger talks, naturalist presentations, live music and bingo. Also located onsite is a spacious meeting/event hall that can be booked for meetings, weddings and retreats of up to 175 people.

Evergreen Lodge is open year-round, and at an elevation of 4,500 feet, offers outdoor recreation throughout the year.
