Hilton Whistler Hosts First Annual Arti Gras Costume Ball
WHISTLER, BC, Canada, Ocotber 25, 2007. The Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa is delighted to announce the first annual Arti Gras. In conjunction with Cornucopia, Whistler's annual celebration of food and drink, the Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa will host two events: Arti Gras Costume Ball on Saturday, November 10th and a Winemaker's Dinner on Sunday, November 11th.
Arti Gras Costume Ball will be a vibrant spectacle of adult carnival fun. This "After Party" on Saturday November 10 immediately following Cornucopia's signature Crush starts at 10:30pm and runs until 3am at the Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa. "We are very excited to host an event of this caliber. Arti Gras will combine the energy of Mardi Gras and the local artistic flavours of Whistler with a Cajun twist. This will be an after-party to remember" says Robert Tan, Director of Food and Beverage.
Arrive at the Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa looking glamorous for the paparazzi that will be waiting for you to make your grand entrance. Embrace the lively atmosphere of the carnival as you are drawn into the streets of New Orleans. The authentic Cajun cuisine designed by Executive Chef David Woodward of the Hilton New Orleans Riverside and prepared by Executive Chef Jay Lynn of the Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa, will tantalize and satiate your palette. All the food might leave you thirsty, and drinks are in abundance, try the famous hurricane, or a tall cold one.
As you travel through the French district of New Orleans from Bourbon to Canal Street you might want to slip into the Hype House of Blues featuring the Blues Brothers. Or maybe you'll be more inclined to groove to the beats in the Heineken House Music room. As for the entertainment there will be an array of local artisans including body and face painting, magicians, and even psychic readings.
No costume? Don't' fret. Handmade masks produced by local artists and face painting will be available by donations to the Whistler Arts Council.

On Sunday, November 11th at 7:30pm, The Cinnamon Bear Grille has partnered with See Ya Later Ranch Winery, to host its Winemaker's Dinner. This signature event features a five course meal masterfully created by Executive Chef Jay Lynn, to compliment the fine wines of See Ya Later Ranch. The See Ya Later Ranch Winemaker will be on hand to provide their intimate knowledge of these fine wines and how it pairs masterfully with each course of this exquisite menu created by Executive Chef Jay Lynn.
