New GM Appointed to Toronto's Fairmont Royal York
Heather Mccrory Returns to the Fairmont Royal York as Hotel's GM& Regional VP, Centr
TORONTO, Canada, October 2, 2007. Kevin Frid, Senior Vice President, Operations, for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Heather McCrory as Regional Vice President for Central Canada and General Manager of The Fairmont Royal York hotel in Toronto, Ontario.
Ms. McCrory brings over 24 years of knowledge and expertise in the hospitality industry to her new position at The Fairmont Royal York. Prior to this appointment, Heather McCrory held the position of Vice President, Sales & Distribution at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts' Corporate Office. During her six years in that role she was responsible for overseeing the revenue generation areas: revenue management, central reservations distribution and the general management of the entire global sales force of both Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Raffles Hotels & Resorts (including 350 hotel sales people in 43 hotels and resorts in North America, Bermuda, Barbados, Mexico and Dubai). That position was preceded by two years of leadership with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts as the Vice President, Hotel Sales, as Regional Director, Sales and Marketing for Alberta Region and as the Regional Director, Sales and Marketing for the Central Canada Region. Ms. McCrory holds an MBA from Queen's University.
Early in her career, McCrory held several progressive hotel positions in various departments at the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel, beginning with the Laundry department, and then several years later, as the Director of Sales and Marketing at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise before assuming the same position at The Fairmont Royal York.
Heather McCrory replaces Ian Wilson as General Manager at The Fairmont Royal York. Ian Wilson has been promoted to a Regional Vice President position with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
