Five-star Spa Luxury Launches in Queenstown
QUEENSTOWN, NZ, July 23, 2007. A new level of luxury is introduced in Queenstown next week with the opening of the region's first international-branded, five-star hotel spa on August 4.
LeSpa at Sofitel is a new spa concept created specifically for Sofitel Hotels & Resorts, drawing on expertise that's been 25 years in the making by the Accor Group. Housed in the multi-award-winning Sofitel Queenstown building in the heart of the popular tourist resort, the million-dollar spa features a full range of signature treatments.
"Queenstown is a place where visitors come to unwind, relax and rejuvenate in our premier four-season resort. With that in mind we're sure that guests and locals will welcome the unique rituals and invigorating luxury spa experiences on offer at LeSpa at Sofitel," said Mark Wilkinson, Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa General Manager. "Walk through the LeSpa door and you step into our distinctive Central Otago sanctuary."
Featuring a traditional Hammam (steam and exfoliation room), use of which is offered free of charge with many treatments, LeSpa has three personal spa suites and two luxury spa suites for two, each with its own steam shower or spa bath.
Unique treatments include the Traditional Maori Ritual, combining 'Ataahua', a traditional exfoliation, full body massage and body wrapping with manuka honey and Rotorua volcanic mud, with the sensuality of a relaxing massage using warm and cool greenstones. There is also a hand and foot luxury spa, a dedicated manicure and pedicure room, and a relaxation lounge.
LeSpa manager, Vikki Aquino, opened a series of four luxurious LeSpa facilities for Sofitel across Asia-Pacific before settling in Queenstown, to oversee the daily delivery of luxury. "This is a uniquely tailored spa concept and a fantastic series of products, and we can't wait to start treating locals and visitors," said Ms Aquino. "At LeSpa at Sofitel our client is always the focus of our attention and we've created a delightful, intimate area for pampering, soothing and invigorating the senses."
Using French and New Zealand product suppliers, the spa offers a range of lavish treatments for the face and body, with a strong emphasis on balance, wellbeing, rejuvenation and regeneration.
Carita and Decl'eor products combine with design elements of Central Otago's greenery, mountains, glaciers, riverbeds and the richness of natural stones in the welcoming spaces and treatment rooms, to deliver a uniquely New Zealand sensory experience.
Upon arrival at the spa, each client will be offered tea in the relaxation room while a trained therapist asks questions about their background, before recommending a treatment or treatments perfectly tailoured to their needs. Winter snow sports lovers can enjoy a LeSpa SoSki Sports Massage with beeswax after a hard day on the slopes.
To celebrate the opening of LeSpa, Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa is offering a special LeSpa package from $340. This rate includes luxury overnight accommodation in a deluxe room for two with breakfast and a $50 LeSpa voucher. The offer is valid until October 31, 2007 and is subject to availability.
LeSpa at Sofitel will be open from 10am to 10pm daily, seven days a week. Locals or visitors keen for friends or family to enjoy the experience can purchase gift vouchers for any treatments.
