TELLURIDE, CO, September 14, 2005. Valencia Group, a boutique hotel management and development company and rising star in the luxury hospitality industry, has announced plans to open lumi`ere, a Valencia Hotel, in Telluride, Colo. The project, opening in the fall of 2007, will be the region's first ski-in, ski-out luxury boutique condominium hotel and will be located in one of the last prime sites in Telluride's Mountain Village.

lumi`ere will be intimately situated at the base of the ski slopes among a selection of chic restaurants, shops, galleries, and other homes. The development's 18 residences will be priced from $1-2 million, and will combine the benefits of whole residential ownership with the convenience and luxury of a professionally managed boutique hotel.

KWB Development and Valencia Group are the two partners behind lumi`ere. KWB Development, a nationally-prominent real estate investment and development company based in Coronado, California will oversee the construction of lumi`ere. Owned by Kevin Kiernan and Don Bourn, KWB's diverse holdings and developments include regional power centers and malls, master planned communities, shopping centers, hotels and resorts. Clients include The Hartford, AOL-Time Warner, Federal Express and The Home Depot.

Valencia Group will oversee the management of lumi`ere. The dynamic new boutique hotel development and management company has created a successful brand of nationally-acclaimed small, luxury hotels: Hotel Valencia(R) Riverwalk in San Antonio and Hotel Valencia Santana Row in San Jose, Calif. Since opening in 2003, Hotel Valencia Riverwalk was named by Conde Nast Traveler magazine as one of the world's top 100 best new hotels. PC Magazine called the San Jose property one of the nation's top ten most technologically advanced hotels. The properties provide guests with a distinct, contemporary four-star experience marked by a hip-yet-classic design, advanced technology, intimate meeting facilities and unparalleled personal service.

"Valencia Group is extremely excited to be affiliated with Kevin Kiernan and Don Bourn in launching this one-of-a-kind project in Telluride," said Matthew Nuss, executive vice president/ principal of the Houston-based company. "Telluride is the perfect backdrop for lumi`ere, and we promise it will be the best the market has ever seen. Now, the same seamless fusion of contemporary design, personalized service and intimate, luxurious style that has come to be known as the Valencia 'brand,' will be available in a residential offering."

Playground, an Intrawest Company, is leading marketing efforts for lumi`ere, including a presentation gallery in Telluride that visually tells the story of the development. Details of the design and service will be unveiled through renderings of floor plans and photos of interior design. Already, the response has been extraordinary, according to Playground's Lynette Hegeman. "Even before our presentation gallery opened you could sense the excitement," she said. "The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive as we have received high praise for our commitment to service and design detail."

Inside and out, lumi`ere will capture the feel of the old west town of Telluride as well as that of the contemporary mountain village. On the exterior of the building the architectural design weaves in native Telluride gold stone with a sage green stucco, highlighted with a patina copper accents and chocolate timber trim. On the inside, lumi`ere's contemporary style will be enhanced by expansive windows and balconies offering guests spectacular views in all directions.

The sleek, sophisticated V bar lounge will showcase Hotel Valencia's signature fire and water design elements, including a dramatic 10" strip of ice that runs along the center of the bar's tabletop and surround the bar. When the climate allows, the glass doors of the lounge will disappear into the walls and the room will open up onto the patio which is accented with intimate seating, hot tubs, and a cold plunge pool.

lumi`ere's lavish suites are a blend of studios to four bedroom penthouses, with many suites outfitted with private elevator access. Once inside the suites, every detail says "indulgence," from the custom-made, seven-layer "Valencia Bed" with its lush Egyptian cotton bed linens, down pillows and duvet to the sumptuously designed bathrooms which feature Aveda bath products, plush, oversized bathrobes and cozy slippers. Suites feature elegant design elements such as walnut-finished hardwood flooring, wood-cased windows and French doors.

Also in keeping with the Valencia brand, lumi`ere will offer guests the latest in communication and entertainment amenities, including CD clock radios, DVD players, flat panel televisions with expanded cable channel lineup, wireless high speed internet, satellite radio service, local-carrier digital mobile phones, and multi-line cordless speaker phones.
