Tecton Names DSM for Betsy Hotel
JUNE 27, 2007. Tecton Hospitality announced today that it has named Lizette Hassell, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Betsy Hotel, which was formerly the Betsy Ross Hotel, located at 1440 Ocean Drive in Miami Beach, Fla. The Betsy Hotel is part of Tecton's Desires Hotels portfolio.
Hassell will be responsible for the forecast, development, implementation and evaluation of a marketing plan and budget for the hotel. She will also be responsible for creating and implementing strategies to increase room revenue.
Hassell has more than 19 years of experience in the hospitality management field, including 13 years in the Miami market. Prior to joining Tecton, Hassell was the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hotel Victor, where she made significant increases in total sales revenues with a major emphasis in increasing group sales revenues. Before this, she was the Director of Catering and Senior Sales Manager for the Hyatt Regency in Coral Gables, Fla.

Hassell has a bachelor's degree in hospitality management from Florida International University in Miami. She has been named an "Outstanding Manager of the Year" by the Florida Hotel and Motel Association and "Manager of the Year" by Hyatt Regency.
