SAN ANTONIO, TX, June 12, 2009 - Marshall S. Tullos, CHA, General Manager of the Holiday Inn Northwest/SeaWorld Area is pleased to announce the appointment of Penny Herring, Director of Sales & Marketing for the soon to open hotel. Per Tullos, "She is an asset to the hotel and we are delighted to have her join our team". With over 30 years of experience, mainly in the downtown area, Penny joined the hotel in May. "I am thrilled to be with such a team and to work on opening the first LEED Certified hotel not only in San Antonio but in Texas. Our location is ideal just across from SeaWorld of Texas and adjacent to the Hill Country Golf Club."

The Holiday Inn San Antonio Northwest/Sea World Area is a unique hotel. This hotel is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council and intends to pursue certification under USGBC's LEED(R) (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program. Once achieved, this property is very likely to be the first Holiday Inn hotel in the country to obtain this certification. The guidelines for becoming LEED certified are very stringent, and involve strict adherence to green building practices. The result is a building that will leave a much smaller footprint on the environment than a traditional hotel. A significant amount of what needs to be done to make a building "green" is done in the building process.

The hotel will feature 194 well-appointed guest rooms including 10 suites and 20 ADA rooms. The Holiday Inn is a full-service hotel with a hill country resort theme. It features 6,000 square feet of function space and three food and beverage outlets including Sporting News Grill. SNG is a high energy bar and grill with 14 flat panel TV's that will broadcast all major sporting events throughout the year. There are four water areas in the hotel including an indoor lap pool, outdoor heated pool, hot tub and children's pool.

The Holiday Inn is located in the prestigious Westover Hills area and is scheduled to open late September. The property development is Tao Development Group of Lubbock and the hotel will be managed by Hospitality Management Corporation of Dallas.
