. October 14, 2008

SAN DIEGO, CA, February 19, 2008. Ann Marie Kimble has been promoted to general manager of the Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego/Del Mar. Prior to her promotion, she was assistant general manager at the hotel.

"Ann Marie saw the hotel through two fires, the first in June 2007 when the Hilton Garden Inn San Diego/Del Mar, under construction next door burned down and affected several suites in our hotel and we had to completely evacuate. The second occurred during the October wildfires when we were completely full and had to evacuate the hotel because the fire was getting close," said Robert A. Rauch, general partner of Homewood Suites and Hilton Garden Inns San Diego/Del Mar. "Thankfully the fire didn't affect our property, but Ann Marie handled everything expertly and has proven herself to be a very capable manager."

Before joining Homewood Suites San Diego/Del Mar, Kimble was assistant general manager of Homewood Suites by Hilton in Amarillo, Texas, where she had also worked as director of sales. She also has experience in sales and catering for a catering company, Holiday Inn and Aramark.

She holds a bachelor's degree in business with a focus in hospitality and tourism management from Virginia Polytechnic and State University (Virginia Tech). She has won numerous awards for her work, including the 2004 Top New Hotel Performance Award by Hilton, the Top Maintenance Score Award four times, the Top 10 Highest Overall Cleanliness Award, and the Outstanding QA Inspection five times.

Kimble resides in La Jolla with her English bulldog, Jack.
