Resort at Squaw Creek Hires Bilingual Training Manager
FEBRUARY 22, 2008. Kerry Kennelly has been hired as the new Human Resources Training Manager for Resort at Squaw Creek. A former Lake Tahoe resident, Kennelly has returned to the region after four years in San Francisco, where she taught Spanish at the high school-level.
In her post at Resort at Squaw Creek, a Destination Resort & Hotels property, Kennelly will be responsible for the creation, implementation and monitoring of all property-wide employee educational and development programs.
"Undoubtedly, Kerry will play a key - and highly visible role -- in our organization," said Daphne Haugh, director of human resources at Resort at Squaw Creek. "We know her efforts will only enhance the training programs we've already put in place, and lead to better-equipped associates to deliver our award-winning hospitality."
In addition to her recent teaching responsibilities, Kennelly also coached varsity soccer, advised the ski and snowboard club, and mentored underachieving freshman students. Previously, Kennelly taught English to adults in Nicaragua and has traveled extensively in Latin America and Spain. While the majority of her professional background focuses on education, she also has numerous years of experience working in customer service positions and in restaurants. She is also an avid skier.
Recently recognized as one of Cond'e Nast Traveler's "Top 50 Ski Hotels" in North America, the 405-room and suite Resort at Squaw Creek offers quick access to Squaw Valley USA's more than 4,000 acres of terrain served by an extensive network of 33 chairlifts including North America's only Funitel and the world-famous KT-22 Express lift.
