Barcelo Crestline Appoints Two VPs
Alexander Stadlin and Roberto Garrido Sanchez
MCLEAN, VA, May 5, 2008. Bruce Wardinski, CEO of Barcelo Crestline Corporation and Playa Hotels & Resorts, S.L. (Playa) today announced the appointment of Alexander Stadlin as Senior Vice President of Asset Management for Barcelo Crestline Corporation focusing on the assets owned by Playa Hotels & Resorts. Also Wardinski appointed Roberto Garrido Sanchez as Vice President of Asset Management for Barcelo Crestline Corporation.
Alexander Stadlin joins Barcelo Crestline from Marriott International where he last served as Area Vice President for the CALA Region (Mexico, Central America and South America). Prior to that he was Area General Manager and General Manager of the JW Marriott Hotel, Mexico City and the Airport Marriott Hotel, Mexico City. His international hospitality experience includes management positions with Marriott in London, Frankfurt and Munich, Germany, as well as throughout the Middle East and Africa. Mr. Stadlin is fluent in English, Spanish and German.
"Alex's extensive background in international hospitality management is a tremendous asset to Barcelo Crestline and Playa as we grow the portfolio and plan for additional acquisitions and expansion," said Bruce Wardinski. "Alex will lead a team of experienced Asset Managers allowing us to focus on our key assets throughout Mexico and the Dominican Republic," added Wardinski.
Mr. Stadlin holds a B.S. from Cornell University and attended an Executive Management Program at Stanford University. He has won numerous industry accolades and is active in the hospitality community serving as Chairman of the Polanco Hotel Association, Mexico City. He is a member of the board of the Mexican Hotel Association and a member of the board of the American Chamber of Commerce.
Roberto Garrido Sanchez joins Barcelo Crestline from Valentin Hotels in Mexico where he was the General Manager for the Valentin Imperial Maya Hotel. Prior to that he was the General Manager for the Hotel Sunscape Puerto Aventuras, Mexico, the Hotel Natura Park Eco-Resort & Spa in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and General Manager for Club Royal Mediterraneo in Mallorca, Spain. In his new position, Mr. Garrido will report to Alex Stadlin, Senior Vice President of Asset Management for Barcelo Crestline Corporation.
"As we expand our holdings and continue major property renovations and improvements throughout our assets in the Dominican Republic, we welcome Roberto's resort management expertise," said Bruce Wardinski. "Roberto will work with the in-house property management teams to help insure successful operations, as well as maximize return on investment for the owners," added Wardinski.
Mr. Garrido holds a B.A. in Tourism from the University of the West of England, as well as a Higher Diploma in Tourism from the University of the Balearic Islands, Spain. He is fluent in Spanish, English, German and Italian.
