Pheasant Run Resort Announces Guest Room Renovation
Local craftsman keep mill work Within Illinois
SEPTEMBER 19, 2008. Oakbrook Hotels Inc. is pleased to announce the completion of another phase of the multi- million renovation of their flagship property, Pheasant Run Resort, which began in 2000 and includes the recent renovation of the resort's Courtyard wing.
This phase of the renovation was designed to provide a product consistent in quality and design with the new upgraded image of the resort, according to Area 39 Architects of Oak Park, Illinois. "The sophisticated country style has contemporary accents, yet is warm and inviting. We incorporated large work surfaces and improved lighting to accommodate the business traveler," according to Area 39 spokesperson.
"More than 100 guest rooms were involved in the renovation, which is a complete room make-over and includes a bathroom redesign, a fresh contemporary look that is reflected in the carpet as well as the wall coverings and the linens. A re-designed desk and work station as well as energy saving thermostats and high definition television LCD panels finish out the new look and feel of the rooms," said Joe Pinto, Vice President of Operations at Pheasant Run Resort.
"One of the unique points about the room re-design is the custom case goods which were manufactured by a local mill worker, Barsanti Woodwork, right here in Chicago, rather than in China," added Pinto. Today, typically all guestroom furniture is manufactured in China because of the lower price point, according to Area 39 Architects. Even though manufacturing the case goods locally was slightly more expensive, the time it saved off-set the additional cost which allowed Area 39 to complete the renovation much sooner so the hotel could put the rooms back into the revenue stream.
"Since 2000, Pheasant Run Resort has undergone a complete transformation, the guest rooms and common areas as well as our dining and entertainment venues have all undergone dramatic enhancements. Our guests have responded enthusiastically about each phase and we are sure they will enjoy the latest guest room improvements," added Pinto.
