LAS VEGAS, NV, September 30, 2009. The Golden Nugget announces its entertainment line-up and casino promotions for the 50th Anniversary of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Dec. 4 through 13.
The hotel and casino will bring some of rodeo's hottest names in country music for special live performances in its intimate, 600-seat Showroom, as well as offer exciting events and promotions in its new events center, The Grand.
The Showroom will host headliners Miranda Lambert, Dec. 5-6, Pat Green, Dec. 7-8, Ronnie Milsap, Dec. 9-10, and The Charlie Daniels Band, Dec. 11-12, all at 10 p.m. Ticket prices for all Showroom headliners start at $49, plus applicable taxes and fees. A brief biography of each artist is detailed below.
In addition to these headlining performances, live closed-circuit viewing of WNFR will be available nightly in the Golden Nugget's 11,000-square-feet events center, The Grand, where fun-filled viewing parties received rave reviews from rodeo fans during 2007's WNFR, making it the best spot outside the ring to view all the rodeo action. The Grand will be filled with big screens, cash bars and even boot-shine cowgirls. Admission into the viewing is free.
As host hotel for the WNFR Team Ropers, the Golden Nugget will be home to an autograph signing with all 30 Team Roper contestants Dec. 8 from noon until 2 p.m. This autograph session will be held in The Grand and is open to the public.
Golden Nugget will wrap up its WNFR festivities with a Ford F-150 truck giveaway, Dec. 13. Tickets for the drawing can be earned many ways starting Dec. 3, including playing tables and slots, joining the hotel's 24-Karat Club, or redeeming WNFR ticket stubs. Participants do not have to be present to win. Complete rules will be posted on the casino floor.
The Golden Nugget will also be holding three one-day "Bucking Broncos" blackjack tournaments, Dec. 4, 8 and 11, with $10,000 in cash prizes in each tournament, including a $5,000 cash grand prize. These tournaments are open to the public and entry fees are $50 per tournament or $100 for all three daily tournaments. Advance bookings are not required but may be made by calling 800-777-5687.
Gold Diggers, the Golden Nugget's newest nightlife spot with balcony views of the Fremont Street Experience, will turn into a country western party every night after WNFR, featuring live bands playing the hottest in country music. Doors open at 9 p.m.

Miranda Lambert
Miranda Lambert is a two-time Grammy nominee, Platinum Artist and winner of the 2008 Academy of Country Music Album of the Year Award. Lambert first exploded onto the country music scene in the summer of 2004 with the radio hit "Me and Charlie Talking," off her platinum debut Kerosene, which debuted at #1 on the country charts - only the sixth time a new artist entered in at the top - and went on to earn Lambert nominations for the Country Music Association's Horizon Award, the ACM's Top New Female Vocalist Award and also a Grammy. Lambert's sophomore record, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, just like Kerosene before, debuted at #1 on the Nielsen Sound Scan Country Chart in May of 2007, and serves as a unanimous critic favorite. Lambert won the Best New Female award at the 2007 ACM Awards and came back even stronger in 2008 with a win for Album of the Year. Lambert will thrill audiences in the Golden Nugget's Showroom Dec. 5 and 6 at 10 p.m.
Pat Green
Three-time Grammy nominee Pat Green has become a cultural force across the country, selling out venues from the Nokia Theater in Time Square to the Houston Astrodome in Texas. His unique lyrics present a distinct vision of the world that reaches outsiders and fans of off-the-beaten-path music. At the same time, the carefree, slice-of-the-good-life, sing-along-with-me nature of his work has built-in mass appeal. Green has sold over two million albums including Gold certified Wave On Wave and his explosive new album, Cannonball, made its debut at #2 on Billboard's Top Country Albums Chart. Cannonball captures Green's joyous, provocative songwriting style with new sharpness and swagger. In an era when many artists shoot to stardom and sometimes fall just as quickly, Green has risen through grassroots support, common-man appeal and an engaging live show. Pat Green performs at 10 p.m. Dec. 7 and 8 in the Golden Nugget's Showroom.
Ronnie Milsap
Ronnie Milsap is a multi-Grammy Award winning artist, ranking as the preeminent country-soul singer of his generation. Milsap has had an enormous impact on music throughout the 70's, 80's, 90's and through today, but also represents much more than any simple definition can convey: a humble, overtly friendly fellow with a talent as vast and multi-dimensional as the American South. Milsap provided country music with one of its most important voices as the genre was moving beyond its rural roots into the mainstream of modern entertainment. Mixing blends of hardcore country, gospel and rhythm and blues, Milsap's track record speaks loud and clear: 40 #1 hits, more than 30 million records sold, seven Grammy Awards, four Academy of Country Music Awards and eight Country Music Association Awards. This success stands as a testament to his staying power in country music as well as his influence over music spanning genres. In fact, Milsap has gone back to his childhood roots in the church and devoted that inspiration into his first gospel record; his first studio album in over 3 years will be released early 2009. Ronnie Milsap will grace the Golden Nugget Showroom stage Dec. 9 and 10 at 10 p.m.
The Charlie Daniels Band
The Charlie Daniels Band is a Grammy Award winning, partly Western and partly Southern, Country music icon. Their music - blending rock, country, bluegrass, blues, and gospel - is quintessentially Southern. In fact, even Daniels' bent for all things Western is Southern, because his attire, his lifestyle and his interests are historically emblematic of Southern working class solidarity with the "lone cowboy" individualism of the American West. It hasn't been so much a style of music, but more the values, consistently reflected in several styles, that have connected Charlie Daniels with millions of fans. For decades, he has steadfastly refused to label his music as anything other than "CDB music." The Charlie Daniels Band returns with its 50th album, Deuces, performing some of their biggest hits, as well as duets of Country, Pop and R&B classics. Along with multiple Grammy awards and nominations, The Charlie Daniels Band has also received numerous accolades from the Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music Awards, Nashville Music Awards and Christian Country Music Association. The Charlie Daniels Band performs at 10 p.m. Dec. 11 and 12 in the Golden Nugget's Showroom.
