Scott Gutz Appointed COO for Amadeus North America

Industry executive and former CEO of e-Travel Inc. returns to Amadeus in a new role after completing

OCTOBER 8, 2008. Amadeus North America today announced the appointment of Scott Gutz as Chief Operating Officer for Amadeus North America. Gutz returns to Amadeus after completing the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan Fellows Program in Innovation and Global Leadership. Gutz was one of only 88 highly qualified individuals selected to participate. He was also the sole representative of his class elected to serve on the Governor's Council responsible for setting the direction of the MIT Sloan Fellows program in future years.

In his new role, Gutz is responsible for the local management of key areas within Amadeus North America, working in conjunction with Amadeus' global operations. These areas include Amadeus North America's development organizations, training services, finance and contract management, information systems, IT managed services and technical support, regional technical services Americas and fares strategy and business development. Gutz reports directly to Kay Urban, president and CEO of Amadeus North America.

Formerly, Gutz served as Senior Vice President, e-Commerce for Amadeus North America and CEO of e-Travel Inc. He led the commercial, product and support activities for Amadeus' large North American corporate, airline and leisure e-commerce customers, working in close conjunction with multinational travel agency partners.

As CEO of e-Travel Inc., Gutz successfully facilitated and implemented the company's sale to Amadeus in 2001, expanding its capabilities to a global level. In 2001, Gutz was named one of the 25 most influential executives by Business Travel News. Prior to joining e-Travel, Gutz was Vice President and Assistant Corporate Controller at Oracle Corporation, where he guided corporate financial planning, corporate accounting, and mergers and acquisitions integration.

Gutz was previously Oracle's director of internal audit, and has also worked for Arthur Andersen LLP in the audit and business process consulting divisions. Gutz is a certified public accountant (CPA) and, in addition to his MIT Master's degree, holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Babson College. Gutz presently resides with his family in Wellesley (near Boston) in his native Massachusetts.
