OCTOBER 29, 2008. The Blue, a fresh pristine 240-suite resort, newly opened, announces Stephen van Hemert as the general manager. Responsible for launching the new property and managing the success of the resort, van Hemert is welcomed by the luxury resort boasting contemporary spacious elegance among world-class golf.
van Hemert joins The Blue with more than 15 years of hospitality experience with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. In the recent past 12 years, van Hemert has held executive positions with luxury properties in South Florida including the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six in Ft. Lauderdale, Doral Golf Resort & Spa Miami and most recently as the General Manager of Lago Mar Resort and Club in Ft. Lauderdale, where under his management the property gained glowing acclaims from Zagat and Conde' Nast Traveler.
Bringing expertise in operational philosophies, van Hemert abides by the "three P" rules of hiring the correct people who can deliver the correct product, which will produce the correct profit for the company.
