Jim Oliver Named GM of New Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale
FT. LAUDERDALE, FL, November 5, 2008. Jim Oliver, a distinguished 27-year hospitality industry veteran, has been appointed General Manager of the luxury, oceanfront Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale, announced Ezzat Coutry, Senior Vice President for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.
In his new position, Oliver oversees operations of the Gold Coast's newest and only luxury oceanfront hotel. Located on Fort Lauderdale's pristine beachfront promenade, the 192-room hotel and lavish private residences is the most elegant and sophisticated in Broward County.
For the past three years, Oliver served as Regional Vice President of Operations for the Southeast, Caribbean and Latin American region, where he as an integral part in the pre-opening process of The Ritz-Carlton properties in Abaco, Molasses Reef and Rose Island.
Between 1984 and 2006, he honed his operational skills at 12 Ritz-Carlton hotels and helped five Ritz-Carlton hotels achieve Five Diamond, Five Star and Malcolm Baldridge awards.
Mr. Oliver is originally from Lockport, New York and currently resides in Plantation, Florida.
