CBP Enrolls Global Entry Participants at NBTA Event

. November 18, 2008

ALEXANDRIA, VA, November 18, 2008. The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) this week served as the first test for U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) field enrollment for the Global Entry program. Global Entry gives pre-approved, low-risk travelers expedited processing through U.S. immigration, customs, and agriculture checkpoints. CBP officers conducted enrollment interviews during the first-ever NBTA Committee Summit being held this week in Alexandria, VA.

NBTA President & CEO, Kevin Maguire, CCTE, GLP, remarked, "NBTA is pleased to work closely with CBP to provide an opportunity to test field enrollment in Global Entry. We have long supported the international registered traveler program, and we're proud to be part of this effort to advance its development. By bringing Global Entry directly to travelers, mobile enrollment will increase participation, which will make the program more valuable."

Global Entry was launched in June 2008 at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston and Washington Dulles International Airport. Within two months, CBP announced expansion to four additional airports: Los Angeles International, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International, Chicago O'Hare International and Miami International.

For details on the program, see the CBP website: www.cbp.gov or www.globalentry.gov.
