Riu Tequila to Open After Major Renovation
NOVEMBER 19, 2008. Riu Tequila is celebrating its 10th anniversary with extensive renovations. The 24-hour all-inclusive resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, will re-open on November 28, 2008. More than $15 million US is being invested in the renewal of the resort, which closed August 20th to focus on the renovation. Changes to the resort include flat-screen televisions in Junior Suites, irons and ironing boards in all rooms, the new Asian a la carte restaurant 'Bamboo', new linens and complete refurbishment of public spaces.
Riu Tequila, a 664-room village-style resort located next to an 18-hole golf course inside Playa del Carmen's exclusive resort area, features four restaurants, two bars, two swimming pools - one with a swim-up bar, miniclub and playground, and a disco. The resort is part of Riu's 24-hour all-inclusive program, which offers breakfast, lunch, dinner available at regular times and snacks and beverages available all day, all night. Guests of Riu Tequila also enjoy beach, pool, restaurant and bar privileges at Riu Lupita, Riu Yucatan and Riu Playacar, three resorts within walking distance from Riu Tequila.
