Accor Names Jeffrey Palmer EVP S&M for North America
JANUARY 13, 2009 - In his new position, Palmer will continue to lead all aspects of marketing, branding, market research, sales, reservations and distribution for Accor North America's Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands in the US, Canada and Mexico.
Accor North America, one of the largest hotel chain owner and operators in North America, announces the promotion of Jeffrey Palmer to executive vice president - sales and marketing, for Accor North America. In his new position, Palmer will continue to lead all aspects of marketing, branding, market research, sales, reservations and distribution for Accor North America's Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands in the US, Canada and Mexico.
Palmer's duties include the development and execution of all communications campaigns, including development of advertising campaign content, execution of all media planning and buying, and directing all online initiatives. Palmer is also in charge of sales and general revenue generation at Motel 6. In addition, Palmer is responsible for working with the brands' president and CEO to provide strategic direction for the brand.
Palmer began with Accor North America in December of 2007 as senior vice president - sales and marketing, and has since led the marketing efforts developing and promoting the Motel 6 brand's new 'Phoenix' prototype, as well as the development of Motel 6's new trip-planning micro site, Goin6.com. He has over 20 years of experience as a senior level executive in marketing, advertising and sales for Fortune 100 Companies including The Home Depot, Pep Boys and Circuit City. Before joining Accor, he served as senior vice president - marketing for NRT Incorporated, developing and overseeing national marketing, internet marketing and advertising. Palmer earned his B.A. in American literature & history from Yale University and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
