CHTA Names David Callaghan Allied Member of the Year
Interval International VP Becomes 12th Recipient of this Prestigious Award
CORAL GABLES, FL, January 20, 2009 - The Caribbean Hotels and Tourism Association (CHTA) has named David Callaghan the Allied Member of the Year for his ongoing support of the Caribbean hospitality industry.
Callaghan, as Vice President of Resort Sales and Service for Interval International, has been a long standing member of CHTA and has been involved in a number of activities in support of the association including:
---| Assistance in the creation and launch of the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference.
---| Ongoing assistance in planning and programs for the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference.
---| Ongoing overall support of the CHTA meeting and conference programs.
---| Initiating a Strategic Partnership Agreement between Interval International and with CHTA in 2001.
---| Ongoing financial support as a major supporter of the CHTA Education Foundation.

The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) named David Callaghan, vice president of resort sales and service for Interval International, as the 2009 Allied Member of the Year.
Callaghan is vice president of resort sales and service for Interval International. He oversees Interval's presence for the Caribbean, Eastern United States and Eastern Canada, as well as directs the day-to-day sales and service activities for the territory. Callaghan is also responsible for building the company's developer client base in the region.
He joined Interval in 1993 as an onsite account manager and was promoted to Caribbean region manager in 1995. He has held a variety of increasingly responsible positions with the company, including assistant vice president of business development, where he directed the company's participation in industry-related conferences throughout the Americas.
Callaghan was recognized with a prestigious American Resort Development Association (ARDA) Circle of Excellence Award for being Producer of the Year in 2002, 2003, and 2004.
He is a member or allied member of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA), the Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA), the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). He currently serves as Chairman of the AHLA/ARDA Vacation Ownership Committee.
Callaghan resides in Miami with his wife and two children.
