Armon Haagen Appointed DoSM for Doubletree Chicago Magnificent Mile
CHICAGO, IL. February 24, 2009 - Birgit Radin, general manager of the Doubletree Hotel Chicago Magnificent Mile, announced today that seasoned sales and marketing executive, Armon Haagen, has been appointed as director of sales and marketing for the 500-room upscale property located on 300 E. Ohio Street. The hotel has just completed a $21 million renovation filled with contemporary design and enhanced offerings for business and leisure travelers.

In his role with Doubletree, Haagen oversees a talented sales team of thirteen, and directs all sales and marketing activities for the hotel, its 16,000 square feet of meeting space, and its new restaurant, MARKETHOUSE.
Haagen has acquired a strong sales background by working for such companies as CompuSystems as vice president of sales, and L.A. Inc., the Convention and Visitors Bureau, as vice president of Midwest Region Sales. Haagen's extensive hospitality industry experience also includes holding numerous sales and marketing roles 24 years for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in Milwaukee, Orlando and Chicago.
He is active in industry associations including the American Society of Association Executives, Association Forum of Chicagoland, Professional Convention Management Association and International Association of Exhibitions & Events. He sits on the board of directors for the Oak Park Convention and Visitors Bureau and serves as the current marketing committee chair for that organization.
Originally from Calumet City, Illinois, Haagen graduated from Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa. He currently resides in Oak Park with his wife.
