Hilton Latin America Launches K.I.D.S. Charity Program

Giving Back to the Communities in Which They Operate

. October 14, 2008

MIAMI, FL, August 1, 2005. Hilton Latin America today launches the charity program K.I.D.S. - Kindness in Donations and Services - at all Hilton hotels in Latin America. The program, implemented throughout Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela, raises funds to support children's charitable organizations in these countries.

Both guests and staff members play a significant role in raising funds. Guests staying at Hilton Hotels in Latin America are invited to voluntarily contribute an amount that varies by hotel. Staff members contribute by donating their time at hotel organized fundraising events. All funds collected help underprivileged children in the location where the money was raised.

Hotels establish a relationship with local children's charities and commit to supporting the organizations through K.I.D.S. fundraising efforts. Among the programs that K.I.D.S. will help: providing support for children with down syndrome in Buenos Aires (ASDRA, helping children diagnosed with Cancer in Buenos Aires (Fundaci'on Natal'i Dafne Flexer, supplying hospital linen in Caracas (J.M. de los R'ios Children's Hospital), building a school in Cartagena (UNICEF), defending children and teenagers' rights in Bel'em (Movimento Rep'ublica de Ema'us) and helping deaf children in Sao Paulo (BRASCI).

K.I.D.S., established in 2001 by Hilton Caribbean to benefit local children's organizations, has enjoyed great success. The program has raised over $1 million since its inception.
