Spain's Fuenso Launches New Hotel Brand
APRIL 6, 2009 - Spanish hospitality group Fuenso, creators of Hospes Hotels, is launching its second hotel brand, Quilibra Hotels, starting with the new opening of its first property, Quilibra Aguas de Ibiza on the Balearic Island.
The brand aims to create modern, urban hotels which offer leisure and business guests spacious surroundings in harmony with nature.
The goal is to escape the artificial atmosphere associated with urban hotels and instead leave guests feeling revived and refreshed within natural surroundings. The Quilibra philosophy combines technology with a strong ecological stance, employing the latest eco-design techniques to create natural, soothing environs.
Quilibra Aguas de Ibiza is located in Santa Eulalia del Riu, 15 minutes from Ibiza airport. The property has 36-rooms and 76 suites with views over the seafront. Original architecture, spacious public areas with contemporary design elements and the use of natural materials are at the core of this hotel. Sustainable practices are employed across the hotel - from low-energy ventilation systems, electric cars, herb gardens, recycling and minimal plastic usage.
The hotel features three in-door swimming pools all with sub-aquatic sound systems, a Bodyna spa and wellness-centre dedicated to the therapeutic properties of sea water and a Senzone restaurant offering traditional Ibizan food with a modern twist.
This new five star hotel group will include hotels that range from 90-120 rooms and will sit within the same price bracket as its sister brand Hospes. Following the opening of Quilibra Aguas de Ibiza, the second Quilibra will open in Murcia, Spain in 2010. Further to this, Quilibra are looking to expand into Northern Europe, the Middle East and the United States. The target for Fuenso is to have 30 hotels across the Quilibra and Hospes brands within the next ten years.
