Hostmark Announces Executive Promotions
APRIL 21, 2009 - Hostmark Hospitality Group, one of the nation's largest and fastest growing hospitality management companies, announced two key executive promotions within the company's leadership team. Robert J. Cataldo will assume the newly created role of Vice Chairman while continuing as Chief Operating Officer and Jerome F. Cataldo will assume the position of President of Hostmark Hospitality Group.
"The new executive structure better aligns our executive leadership with the changing dynamics of our company," C.A. "Bud" Cataldo said. "Both men have had long and distinguished careers with Hostmark Hospitality Group and are the natural choices to continue to lead the company forward," concludes Cataldo.
Robert J. Cataldo's experience spans four decades with various branded and independent hotels and resorts. Robert has developed and held operational responsibility for more than 300 hotels and resorts with asset value exceeding $3 billion. Known throughout the industry as having a "hands on" approach, Mr. Cataldo is an internationally respected leader among hotel operators. In 2008, Mr. Cataldo was awarded the Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association's J. Patrick Leahy Lifetime Achievement Award in its inaugural year, recognizing him for enduring excellence in the hospitality industry. Mr. Cataldo serves on numerous academic and industry boards, including those of Roosevelt University's Manfred Steinfeld School of Hospitality Management, as well as the Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association.
Jerome F. Cataldo is responsible for the continued development and growth of Hostmark Hospitality Group. As President, Mr. Cataldo will represent the organization within the industry and provide leadership for Hostmark and its future. Over the past dozen years, Jerome has led the business development efforts for Hostmark and will continue to oversee the development of new management opportunities as well as acquisitions. Jerome was instrumental in the formation of the Shamrock-Hostmark Fund, LLC and serves as one of its Managing Directors. The fund successfully acquired over $200 million in assets and successfully transitioned the properties into the operating division of Hostmark Hospitality Group. He is a graduate of Marquette University and holds an MBA in finance from DePaul University. Jerome has served on the board of directors of Hostmark since 1994 and also serves on the board of directors for the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau.
