Christie Hicks Named Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales for Starwood Hotels & Resorts
Global Sales and Industry Veteran to Lead Starwood's Impressive Sales Group
WHITE PLAINS, NY, October 25, 2005. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide (NYSE:HOT) announces the appointment of Christie Hicks to senior vice president, Global Sales. In her new role, Hicks will be responsible for the selling functions at the Corporate and Divisional levels of the company and will supervise the Global Sales Organizations and functions around the world. Hicks will report directly to Javier Benito, executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

Prior to this new position, Hicks lead Starwood's global sales organization for North America including the group, leisure, and corporate transient sales. During her tenure, Hicks oversaw more than 200 global sales associates and was responsible for more than $1.5 billion in annual revenue.
Before joining Starwood in 1999, Hicks was the vice president of national sales for Hyatt Hotel Corporation. She began her career in 1985 with Hyatt Hotels where she served in a number of national sales positions which included director of sales and marketing for Hyatt's northeast national sales office and assistant vice president of National Sales.
Hicks holds a B.S. degree from Tulane University. She was also the recipient of Hyatt's honored Donald N. Pritzker Award for sales excellence. She received the PCMA Professional Achievement award in 2005.. Active in industry affairs, Hicks is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) board of directors, a trustee of the PCMA Educational Foundation, Chair of the CIC Foundation and a member of the SITE Foundation.
