RockBridge Hires New Managing Director of Investment Group

MAY 12, 2009 - Jonathan Benowitz has joined RockBridge as Managing Director of the Investment Group. James T. Merkel, President of RockBridge, made the announcement.

As Managing Director of the Investment Group, Benowitz's primary responsibility will be directing RockBridge's investment activities. He will also support RockBridge's other business activities and the pursuit of new ventures.

"His extensive experience on the transaction side of the hospitality industry makes him a valuable addition."

Prior to joining RockBridge, Benowitz served as Senior Vice President - Project Finance and Investment Analysis for Hilton Hotels Corporation. There his responsibilities included completing transactions involving acquisitions, dispositions, mortgage financing, joint venture equity financing and negotiating management agreements for hotel projects. He was also responsible for Hilton's Feasibility & Investment Analysis Department and played an instrumental role in Hilton's acquisition of Hilton International in February 2006 and the sale of Hilton Hotels Corporation to Blackstone in October 2008. He also spent seven years with Marriott Corporation where he was involved in a variety of financial and real estate matters.

Benowitz earned a Master's degree of Business Administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York.
