New York Hotel Named #1 by Institutional Investor
NEW YORK, NY, November, 2005. St. Regis Hotels & Resorts has announced that The St. Regis Hotel, New York has been named the number one hotel in the world by the readers of Institutional Investor.
With a score of 93.3, The St. Regis Hotel, New York is the first New York hotel to win the coveted top spot in the survey's 25-year history.
"I am very proud to lead a hotel that has proved itself so dedicated to providing exemplary service to its guests. This is an incredible achievement for all of us and the realization of a hotelier's dream," stated Scott Geraghty, general manager of The St. Regis Hotel, New York.
The St. Regis Hotel, New York represents the flagship of the St. Regis brand, which includes 11 of the most celebrated hotels and resorts around the globe. The brand is on a dynamic growth path with St. Regis properties opening in Bora Bora, Fort Lauderdale, Anguilla, Mexico City, Singapore, Atlanta, Bal Harbor, FL and Deer Valley, UT over the next three years. The highly-anticipated St. Regis Hotel, San Francisco recently opened to great acclaim.
The magazine's annual survey was released in the November issue of Institutional Investor, and marks the 25th year the survey has been published. Two other St. Regis Hotels were recognized by readers -- The Lanesborough, A St. Regis Hotel, was honored with the 12th spot, while the St. Regis Hotel, Beijing captured the 27th. To conduct the survey, Institutional Investor asked participating financiers to rate hotels they had visited recently on a scale of 1 to 100. The scores were averaged and ranked according to a formula that assigns greater weight to those panelists who are the most frequent travelers. Any hotel requires a significant number of votes to qualify.
