Fairmont Olympic Completes Lobby Refurbishment

. October 14, 2008

SEATTLE, WA, December 13, 2005. The historic grand lobby of the Fairmont Olympic Hotel here now has new custom handmade carpeting and elegant furnishings following a $650,000 restoration project.

Completed in November, the lobby renovation extends three floors, from the lower lobby to the spiral staircase leading to the main lobby and the mezzanine.

The new hand-knotted carpets feature nearly 30 rich jewel-toned colors that complement the hotel's warm wood paneling and newly polished marble floors. Additionally, lobby lighting was enhanced and furniture was reupholstered.

Other recent renovations at the 450-room hotel include remodeled guest bathrooms, new plush mattresses and infrastructure updates.

Opened in 1924, the Fairmont Olympic Hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
