Miller Named Senior VP, Acquisitions and Development for Strategic Hotels

CHICAGO, IL, December 19, 2005. Strategic Hotel Capital, Inc.(NYSE: SLH), which operates as Strategic Hotels & Resorts, a public real estate investment trust, today announced that Stephen K. Miller has joined the company as senior vice president, acquisitions and development.

Mr. Miller brings to Strategic more than 25 years of hospitality industry experience with several hotel brands, including Carlson Hotels Worldwide, Wyndham International, Marriott, Embassy Suites and Holiday Inns. Most recently Mr. Miller served as President and CEO of Arlington Hospitality, Inc., a publicly traded company, and the owner of some 45 hotels in 17 states. Throughout 2005 Mr. Miller led an effort to recapitalize Arlington, which recently culminated in the successful sale of substantially all of the company's assets to Sunburst Hospitality and SJB Equities. Prior to his appointment to President and CEO, he served as Arlington's Senior Development Officer.

Before joining Arlington, Mr. Miller was Executive Vice President for Carlson Hotels Worldwide, where he directed the company's investment in and acquisition of high-end properties throughout North America. In this position, Steve was also instrumental in developing new joint venture and institutional relationships.

Prior to Carlson, Mr. Miller held a variety of senior real estate and development posts at Wyndham International. During his ten plus years with Wyndham, he directed expansion of the Wyndham brand in the U.S., Canada and Caribbean, developing and acquiring many of the brand's flagship properties.

He served as vice president of development for Interstate Hotel Corporation, then a leading Marriott franchisee, and also served as Director of Development for Embassy Suites Hotels when the brand was launched in the early 1980's by Holiday Inns, Inc.

Mr. Miller began his career as a real estate consultant with Laventhol & Horwath, which he left to join the corporate development team of Holiday Inns, Inc. Mr. Miller attended the University of New Hampshire, where he received a B.S. in hotel business administration, with a minor in marketing.
